Bearing in mind Colin MacCabe's (Professor of the University of Exter School of English) words:
"to truly know a language, you must know something of the literature of a language", I've included one of Joyce's short stories from "Dubliners", The Sisters.
It was originally published in The Irish Homestead Journal on August 13, 1904. The Sisters was Joyce's first published work of fiction.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it, improving your reading and listening skills since you can read and listen to the story at the same time. Moreover, as we'll discuss the story in the classroom you will be able to develop a creative thinking, reading between the lines.
Enjoy your reading!

opening learners' eyes
This is a power point presentation by longman. I've included it in order to make learners aware of new viewpoints and language learning experiences, that is, according to Scharle & Szabo (2000) "it opens learners' eyes to new ways of thinking about their learning".
